Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,439 new cases, active cases count crosses 25,000 mark

Kathmandu, October 7

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 94,253 of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,439 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,684 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 14,209 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 113,486 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 25,007 cases are active currently. Among them, 14,411 are in home isolation, and 10,596 are hospitalised. Likewise, 233 are in intensive care units, and 37 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 68,668 people have achieved recovery whereas 578 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,126 people have been discharged whereas 15 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72.9 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Manang, and Mustang do not have any active cases.

Over 4,100 people are quarantined across the country.
