Kathmandu, September 3

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has objected to the name of Deepak Bohora to include him in the Cabinet citing his alleged involvement in the purchase of land by Nepal Oil Corporation, which has been controversial recently.

Earlier, the newly formed Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic had forwarded his name as Deuba agreed to expand the Cabinet incorporating the Pashupati Shamsher Rana-led party.

Following Deuba’s objection, Rana withdrew Dohora’s name and forwarded the names of Bikram Pandey, Sunil Bahadur Thapa and Ram Kumar Subba for the ministerial berth.

But, Bohora has warned that he would split the new party also if he was barred from joining the Cabinet.

Meanwhile, the main opposition CPN-UML has said the PM cannot expand the Cabinet now as the code of conduct for November elections has already come into effect.

The UML says its Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Subas Chandra Nembang has already drew the attention of Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav to the government’s preparation.
