Kathmandu, April 4
Naya Shakti Party Nepal has donated Rs 500,000 to people affected by the disastrous storm in Bara and Parsa districts of southern Nepal.
The party’s coordinator and former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai handed over the money to Province 2 Minister for Physical Infrastructure Jitendra Sonal. The money will be deposited in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, according to the party.
Earlier, Bhattarai had announced that he would provide his half month’s salary to the survivors.
In another context, Bhattarai has called on members of the public to provide their support to the survivors through formal channels.
