Industrialist Sharda appointed Georgia’s Honorary Consul in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 5

Industrialist Shiv Ratan Sharda has been appointed Georgia’s Honorary Consul in Kathmandu of Nepal.

Georgian Ambassador to India, Archil Dzuliashvili, who also looks after Nepal, handed over the Commission Letter to Sharda amid a function in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat and the Georgian Consular Department Director George Tabatadze were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sharda said he hoped to further develop closer ties between Nepal and Georgia, as well as provide guidance and assistance in Nepal and develop a focal point for the needs of Georgians here in Nepal and abroad.

Likewise, Mahat said the diplomatic bonding of two countries would take a new height of friendship during Sharda’s tenure and it give further opportunities for business to grow and other facilities to the people of both the countries.

Georgia has opened the Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu aiming to provide services and facilitate visitors from Georgia to Nepal and also facilitate Nepalis visiting Georgia as a destination for travel, business, education and other services.
