Kathmandu, September 6
The Election Commission says the filing of nominations by candidates for the third phase of local level elections in Province 2 is going peaceful so far in all eight districts.
The Commission has set the time from 10 am to 5 pm today to file nominations for the polls going to be held on September 18.
EC spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal says the nominations are underway peacefully in all 136 local units of Province 2.
Total 6,627 people’s representatives will be elected from the polls in one metropolitan city, three sub-metropolitan cities, 73 municipalities and 59 rural municipalities of eight districts including Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha. Sarlahi, Mahottari, Rautahat, Bara and Parsa.
