Kathmandu, August 7

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic, formed after Pashupati Shamsher Rana split the RPP yesterday, says it is open to join the incumbent government.

The party, however, has demanded that the ruling coalition make the offer first, a RPP-D leader tells Onlinekhabar.

The RPP led by Kamal Thapa had earlier announced that it would not join the incumbent coalition government after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba failed to incorporate it in recent Cabinet expansion.

Meanwhile, the party is likely to accept federal democratic republican order as the party’s agenda as people in three latest elections (two Constitutional Assembly elections and recent local level elections) have voted for change, according to the source.

However, the new party will announce its political line only after the first general convention.

The unified RPP had constitutional monarchy as the major principle.

The party is holding its central committee meeting within a couple of days to decide next strategies, the source informs.
