Kathmandu, August 15
Aviation officials say all airports in the country except those in Lukla and Biratnagar of eastern Nepal have resumed operation.
Most airports across the country were unable to operate flights for last few days owing to a heavy rainfall. Floodwater had entered runways of some airports of Terai, forcing the management to shut down services. Airlines were unable to operate flights from and to airports of hilly and mountainous regions due to unfavourable weather conditions.
But, as of today, all except two have resumed operation, informs Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur.
“Cleaning is underway at Biratnagar Airport whereas flights have been cancelled in Lukla due to weather,” he says, “Other airports have already resumed operation.”
