Nepal Covid-19 tally: 241 new cases, 228 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 924,398 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 241 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,814 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 235 returned positive. Likewise, 2,083 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional six tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.44 per cent of the PCR and 0.28 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.70 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,871 active cases across the country. Of them, 237 are hospitalised, 83 in intensive care units and 23 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 253 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were no deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 811,746 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,590 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 56,112 people were vaccinated today.
