Four Biplav Maoist cadres held for Kathmandu couple’s abduction

Four cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist party arrested for their alleged involved in an abduction case.

Kathmandu, June 25

Police in Kathmandu recently arrested four persons, two men and two women, for their alleged involvement in kidnapping a couple from Gongabu of Kathmandu.

They are cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist party, police said.

The victims, herb trader Gopal Babu Shrestha and his wife Kabita Dahal, have also been rescued safe from the kidnappers’ clutches.

Shrestha was rescued from the hotel the couple was staying at, but Dahal was held captive at an office of the party’s youth wing in Bagbazaar, according to police.

Whereas police arrested Shakti Bishwakarma, Madan Krishna Maharjan, Anju Deula Maharjan and Anju Bharati; two others allegedly involved in the crime are on the run, says the Metropolitan Crime Division.

The absconding two are Rajaman Tamang and Rajesh.
