25-member Nepal cricket squad announced for Hong Kong clashes

Kathmandu, August 14

A 25-member preliminary squad has been announced to represent Nepal in their two matches against Hong Kong under the ICC World Cricket League Championship.

Nepal will play against Hong Kong in the sixth round of the WCL Championship on October 13 and 15.

The list finalised by coach Jagat Tamata and captain Paras Khadka includes some new faces besides those who have played against Kendya in the fifth round.

Subas Khakurel has been excluded from the camp due to an injury whereas  Saurabh Khanal and Jitendra Mukhiya have made a comeback. Lalit Singh Bhandari, Kushal Bhurtel and Hasim Ansari have been included in the team for the first time.

Other members include Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Gauchan, Basanta Regmi, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Binod Bhandari, Naresh Budhaer, Mehboob Alam, Sagar Pun, Arif Shekh, Abhinash Karna, Sunil Dhamala, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sushil Kandel, Bikram Sob, Dilip Nath and Sushan Bhari are other members of the team.

It has been learned that the names were selected on the basis of their performance in the matches held in past one year.
