Kathmandu, August 24
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted approval to mobilise Nepali Army personnel during the upcoming third phase of local level elections in Province 2 slated for September 18.
According to the President’s Office, the approval to that effect was granted as per the Article 66.2 of constitution.
Earlier, meetings of the National Security Council and the Council of Ministers on August 21 had recommended the President to mobilise the NA soldeirs for the security purpose during the upcoming polls.
Army personnel had been mobilised during the first and second phases of local level elections in May and June as well.
