Kathmandu, March 24
Education and Health Committee of the Federal Parliament on Sunday decided to launch an investigation into reported irregularities in Lalitpur-based KIST Medical College.
The college has reportedly tampered with examination results of the students who denied paying extra charges other than those allowed by the government.
A meeting of the House panel held today decided to form a subcommittee to look into the issue. The subcommittee, however, is yet to be formed, according to the committee chair Jayapuri Gharti.
Earlier, a panel formed by the Ministry of Education had also reported various irregularities in the institution.
The parliamentary committee’s next meeting is likely to form the subcommittee.
