Nine days after disastrous ‘tornado’, fresh rainstorm hits Bara

Bara, April 10

Nine days after a disastrous storm that killed 28 persons in Bara and Parsa districts of southern Nepal, the region experienced another rainstorm on Tuesday morning.

Meteorologists had claimed that the last week’s storm was similar to a tornado in the nature.

Zinc roofs of many houses including police posts have been removed by the storm this morning. It also destroyed the transmission tower of Simara FM whereas crops of wheat, maize and vegetables also got damaged.

Simara Sub-Metropolitan City of Bara has been the worst hit.

Locals have said that teenagers taking the annual Secondary Education Examination have been affected due to the bad weather.

Shankar Acharya, an examination official in Simara, informs that they have decided to provide additional time to the examinees today as they could not write properly due to the hailstorm for around 30 minutes.
