Rautahat, April 9
A 60-year-old woman died after a rainstorm on Tuesday morning blew the roof of her house.
The victim has been identified as Ram Sakhi Devi Chamain, a resident of Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-3 of Rautahat district.
Family members have said she died after sustaining an injury when the roof dropped off the house. SP Bhupendra Khatri of the District Police Office, however, said she might have died after she shivered with cold inside the roofless house during the rain.
The rainstorm rendered around 50 houses of Dalits in Paroha Municipality roofless. Khaira and Ramauli Bairiya of Brindaban Municipality have also been severely affected.
Likewise, the storm destroyed crops worth millions of rupees in the district.
