Nepal Covid-19 tally: 785 new cases, 888 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 895,977 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 785 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,233 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 663 returned positive. Likewise, 4,962 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 122 tested positive.

Of total tests, 9.16 per cent of the PCR and 2.45 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 6.43 per cent.

As of today, there are 14,787 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,165 are hospitalised, 314 in intensive care units and 111 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 888 people have achieved recovery whereas 12 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 776,831 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,243 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.76 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 127,532 people were vaccinated today.
