Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,611 new cases, 1,816 recoveries, 27 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 30

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 753,633 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry 3,611 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,783 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,467 returned positive. Likewise, 4,878 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,144 tested positive.

Of total tests, 25.21 per cent of the PCR and 23.45 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 24.62 per cent.

As of today, there are 31,014 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,194 are hospitalised, 686 in intensive care units and 161 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,816 people have achieved recovery whereas 27 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 652,261 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,834 died, according to the ministry.
