Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,114 new cases, 2,197 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 733,260 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry 3,114 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,625 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,309 returned positive. Likewise, 4,285 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 805 tested positive.

Of total tests, 21.73 per cent of the PCR and 18.78 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 20.88 per cent.

As of today, there are 27,757 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,671 are hospitalised, 650 in intensive care units and 165 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,197 people have achieved recovery whereas 16 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 641,565 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,695 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current positivity rate is 94.5 per cent whereas the death rate is 1.5 per cent.
