Kathmandu, June 28
Police in various districts reported that they arrested fake voters trying to cast votes in the name of other people.
Two fake voters have been arrested from the Janashiksha Sadan Basic School voting centre in Rajarani, Chaubise Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta district.
Their names have not been revealed.
In another case, Purushottam Acharya (29) of Biratnagar-3 was arrested for trying to cast vote in the name of his uncle Durga Acharya.
He was arrested from Kanya Campus voting centre in Biratnagar.
Meanwhile, in Deukhuri Gadhawa Rural Municipality of Dang, Rahat Ali was arrested for trying to vote in the name of his brother Raj Ali.
The election law has it that such fake voters would be fined from Rs 1,000 to Rs 25,000.
