Kathmandu, March 24

The government on Thursday has endorsed an integrated security plan for the local elections scheduled for May 13.

A meeting of the Central Security Committee held on Thursday morning endorsed the plan. Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand led the team.

“With this plan, it will be easier to hold the local elections; further, other elections can also be conducted accordingly,” Home Ministry Spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel informs Onlinekhabar.

Chiefs of security officials who were present at the meeting talked about efforts needed to make the election process safe and peaceful, expressing their commitments to the same.

Meanwhile, the minister also urged security officials to ensure effective security measures during the visit of Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi that will begin Friday.
