Kathmandu, September 24

The Department of Transport Management has halted collection of applications for driving licence and its distribution for next two weeks citing traffic police, whom the Department needs to work with, will be busy in traffic management on the road during the Dashain festival.

Now, the operations will resume on October 8 only, says the Department’s spokesperson Tokraj Pandey.

Till then, collection of applications, trials and written examinations, and distribution will not be held, he says.

Collection of applications was halted at other offices except the Bagmati Zonal Office in Ekantakuna was halted last week. From today, the Ekantakuna office also goes non-operational.

However, renewal of old licences will not be stopped till the last day before vacation, says the Office.
