Daraz expands services to 47 cities across Nepal

Kathmandu, October 24

Daraz, a leading online marketplace in Nepal, says it has expanded its services to 47 cities across Nepal by now.

“The diverse geography of Nepal presents a lot of hardship for e-commerce companies like Daraz, amongst which the lack of proper road networks stands at the very top. Without a proper road network connecting major cities to one another, delivering any sort of goods and services is very difficult,” the company says in a statement, “To tackle such an issue, Daraz hired delivery riders familiar with a particular locality in any given part of the country. These riders help the company in delivering any sort of products to their rightful location wherever it may be.”

Currently, Daraz has around 15 delivery hubs located throughout the country. These hubs are where customers’ products are shipped to and from.

The hubs are as follows:

  1. Birtamod
  2. Biratnagar
  3. Janakpur
  4. Birgunj
  5. Bharatpur
  6. Pokhara
  7. Butwal
  8. Dhangadhi
  9. Bhaktapur – Sallaghari
  10. Kathmandu – Old Baneshwor
  11. Kathmandu – Balaju
  12. Kathmandu – Gopikrishna
  13. Kathmandu – New Road
  14. Kathmandu – Thasikhel
  15. Kathmandu – Soltimod

Ever since its acquisition by Alibaba in 2018, Daraz’s key focus has been to build a countrywide logistic infrastructure that would not only allow it to increase its footprint but would also aid in creating a better e-commerce ecosystem in the country, claims the company.
