Kathmandu, April 24
The federal government is preparing to authorise legislative bodies of provincial governments to solve political disputes between local governments and between local and provincial governments.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers recently registered a bill on managing interrelationships among federal, provincial and local governments, authorising provincial assemblies to deal with the disputes.
If the Federal Parliament will endorse the draft as it is, the provincial assemblies can check if decisions and activities of one local unit breached the jurisdiction of another local unit or the provincial government and resolve such issues.
Meanwhile, the bill has proposed forming a National Coordination Council to coordinate among three levels of government.
The Prime Minister will head the council.
Earlier, the constitution had mandated the federal legislative to formulate a law regarding the coordination among three levels.
