Kathmandu, April 26
Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut did not show up at a crucial meeting of Interprovince Council, chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in Kathmandu on Friday.
Raut said he could not be there as he was busy with party engagements. However, the issue could be interpreted differently as the Raut government was at odds with the federal government in the past as well.
Chief ministers of other six provinces, as well as Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Finance are present at the meeting.
Prime Minister Oli called the meeting to discuss budget allocations for the next fiscal year as the government is preparing the annual budget statement for the next fiscal year.
Chief ministers have been complaining that the federal government has not provided sufficient resources for them.
