The government has announced a public holiday across the country for coming Tuesday, November 17.
Although the previously published holiday calendar fixed the Bhaitika holiday for Monday, November 16, many Newars in the country are preparing to celebrate the festival as Kija Puja on Tuesday. Therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs extended the holiday.
In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry’s spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Budha said all government offices, public institutions, organisations, and academic institutions across the country would be closed that day.
