Kathmandu, June 25
Minister for Water Supply, Bina Magar, has said that the deadline of Melamchi Water Supply Project is extended till the final decision of Dispute Board is out.
Dispute Board is a committee formed to solve the problems raised between Melamchi Project authorities and the contractor company.
The Board in its preliminary advice had suggested extending the deadline of the Italian contractor company, CMC, for completion of the project.
She further claimed that the government had already added 212 days that expired on June 14. But, the Board has recommended to extend date starting from June 23.
Likewise, Minister Magar also warned of going to court if the Board’s decision to extend 212 more days was not corrected.
If the Board failed to rectify its decision, the government would proceed for arbitration for the policy-level decision, she added.
