Kathmandu, November 8

The government of India handed over 28 ICU ventilators to Nepal so as to support the country in its Covid-19 response.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, handed over the machines to Health and Population Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal at the ministry, informs the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

“The supply of the ventilators follows an earlier Covid–19-related assistance extended to Nepal: Remdesivir vials on September 15, ICU ventilators on August 9, Covid-19 test kits (RT-PCR) on May 17, and essential medicines including paracetamol and hydroxychloroquine on April 22,” the embassy says.

During the function, Kwatra reiterated India’s solidarity with the government and the people of Nepal in their fight to prevail over the pandemic and reaffirmed India’s commitment to providing all necessary help in this regard, claims the embassy.
