Govt to file constitution amendment bill to incorporate new Nepal map

Kathmandu, May 22

The government on Friday decided to register a constitution amendment proposal within a few days in order to incorporate the newly published political map of the country.

A cabinet meeting held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar made the decision.

The next House of Representatives meeting has been called for Tuesday next week, and the government will register the proposal before that, it has been learned.

While endorsing the new map of the country earlier this week, the government had said it would make preparations to amend the constitution also as its Schedule 3 describes the country’s coat of arms, which also shows the map.

The government has already made the new map public.
