Kathmandu, November 23
The Election Commission says it cannot allow the transfer of six gazetted officials including three chief district officers.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had sought the approval of Commission for transfer of six second-class gazetted officials. But, the Commission decided to dismiss the request.
Meanwhile, the Commission also directed the Ministry of submit original documents related to the decision within next 24 hours.
The Commission has already implemented the code of conduct for upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections. After the commencement of implementation of code, the government cannot transfer its staff without the Commission’s consent.
