A ceasefire agreement has been reached between India and Pakistan. According to the senior officials of both countries, the agreement will come into effect immediately.

The agreement was announced by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

According to Indian Foreign Secretary Misri, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) held a phone conversation with his Indian counterpart this afternoon and confirmed the agreement for a full ceasefire.

In a brief statement, Misri said, “Both sides have agreed to halt all types of war and military operations on land, air, and sea starting today at 5:00 PM Indian Standard Time.”

DGMOs from both sides have been instructed to implement the agreement. It has also been informed that the two officials will have another round of talks at noon on Monday (May 12)
