Three terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammed group are reported to have entered India’s Bihar through Nepal, leading to tightened security measures.
According to Indian media reports, citing the infiltration, India’s police headquarters has put security personnel on high alert and mobilized intelligence agencies.
India Today reported that Jaish-e-Mohammed members Hasnain Ali, Adil Hussain, and Mohammad Usman entered India via Nepal.
The report stated that all three are Pakistani nationals. The information about their entry into India has caused a stir within the security agencies.
However, the report did not mention through which border point along the Nepal–India frontier they entered Bihar or when the entry occurred.
According to the online edition of News18, their physical descriptions and identity details have been circulated to all police units with instructions to remain vigilant.
Similarly, ETV Bharat reported that police in Bihar’s Sitamarhi, Madhubani, West Champaran, Araria, Kishanganj, and Supaul districts have been put on alert and directed to monitor suspicious activities.
Local residents have also been urged to inform the nearest police station if they notice anything suspicious.
Earlier in 2024, Indian security forces had also arrested three individuals, claiming they had infiltrated from Nepal.
