Families hold mass cremations for missing Rasuwa flood victims (Photos)

Kathmandu, September 2

Families who have lost hope of finding relatives missing in the Rasuwa floods are creating funeral effigies using kaas-kush (sacred grass) and performing their final rites.

On Wednesday, dozens of such effigies were cremated in a mass funeral at Pashupati Aryaghat. The cremation was carried out according to Hindu traditions by the families and relatives of those who remain missing, drawing a large crowd at the cremation site.

The scene was deeply emotional as grieving families performed the final rites in memory of their missing loved ones.
