1. Oppo F21 Pro

Oppo may not be a favourite but it surely does have a different fan base among smartphone users in Nepal. The majority of Oppo phones released here have made design and camera its primary focus rather than performance. Oppo F21 Pro is also a good-looking smartphone. It has a decent yet cool-looking design. The orbit light around the camera is most likely to get people’s attention. Also, this is a slim build phone weighing only 175 grams and measuring 7.50mm in thickness.

It offers a 6.43-inch of AMOLED display with a 90.80% of screen-to-body ratio. The display also supports up to 90Hz refresh rate and gets up to 800 nits of brightness. The 409 PPI density on the display should offer more details when viewing the media.

Oppo F21 Pro comes with a 64MP primary camera accompanied by a couple of 2MP macro and depth sensors. This is just a basic setup for a smartphone whose primary focus is on the camera as well. 2. Vivo V25e

Vivo V25e is the lighter and more economical version of Vivo V25. Both phones were released together about a month ago in Nepal. Vivo too is not a fan favourite when it comes to purchasing a smartphone in Nepal. But recently, the company has made some good launches, which can help them get back on track. Vivo V25e has a glass front and back with a metal frame build. Also, the back panel of it changes colour when exposed to sunlight.

This is also a lightweight phone, weighing only 183 grams and measuring 7.79mm in thickness. On the front is a 6.44-inch AMOLED display, which supports up to 90Hz refresh rate and can achieve a peak brightness of up to 1300 nits.

There is a triple camera setup on the back of it. The primary 64MP camera is housed together with a couple of MP depth and macro sensors. The primary camera offers features like PDAF and OIS. On the front is a 32MP sensor with an HDR. It runs on Funtouch 12, which is based on Android 12. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset.

Vivo V25e is available with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The user can expand the RAM memory by up to 8GB and storage by up to 1TB. It gets all the power from a 4,500mAh non-removable battery, which can be charged with a 44W fast charger. Surprisingly, Vivo has excluded the 3.5mm headphone jack on it.

3. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G

Samsung is one of the most popular brands when it comes to choosing a smartphone. This year, the company launched a huge number of smartphones in the market. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is one of the many smartphones released by Samsung this year in its A-series. It comes with a plain and simple design. It weighs around 186 grams and measures 8.1mm in thickness.

There is a 6.4-inch AMOLED display on it, which supports up to 90Hz refresh rate and 411 PPI density. Its display has Gorilla Glass 5 protection and is IP67 dust/water resistant. The 4K video recording option, ample protection and a power-efficient chipset should be the driving factor for the purchase of this smartphone. Also, Samsung has mostly provided a good display and camera performance over the years.

4. OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G

OnePlus once was a dominant name in the smartphone market. It offered way better features than the competitors in its price range. That changed when the company started to compete against the best in the market. The Nord series was introduced to fulfil the gap that the OnePlus series has previously filled. While the OnePlus series competes against the flagships, the Nord series offers what OnePlus once were famous for.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is a good choice for the brand’s fanatics. It is a lightweight smartphone only weighing 173 grams and measuring a thickness of 7.8mm. Similarly, the design of it is also attractive but is prone to fingerprints. There is a 6.43-inch fluid AMOLED display on it, which supports up to 90Hz refresh rate and has HDR10+ feature.

Coming to the cameras, it offers a 64MP primary camera accompanied by 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensors. On the front is a 16MP selfie sensor with an EIS feature. 5. Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G

Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G is the best offering from the company in its latest Realme 9 series. It is also one of the best camera phones in this price category. It comes with a cool light shift design with a glass back. This is also a lightweight phone weighing 182 grams and measuring about 7.99mm in thickness. The 6.40-inch Super AMOLED display on it can support up to 90Hz of refresh rate and up to 360Hz of touch sampling rate. The display can also achieve a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. Furthermore, there is also Gorilla Glass 5 protection on it. 

The primary sensor on this smartphone is a 50MP flagship Sony sensor that comes with dual stabilisation features, ProLight Imaging technology and AI Noise Reduction Engine 3. 0 for better and sharper images and videos. Similarly, a 4K recording option, a cooling system and Dolby Atmos-supported speakers can be a deal maker as well. The different photography modes on it can be a really interesting addition to it. Also, the fingerprint sensor can be used as a heart rate sensor.

6. Xiaomi 12 Lite

From the name itself, one can assume that this is the lighter version of Xiaomi’s flagship, Xiaomi 12, which was released earlier this year. Xiaomi 12 Lite can definitely be the best option if you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 50,000 in Nepal. It has borrowed most of the design traits from its expensive siblings, which makes it look pleasing. It is also a lightweight phone, weighing only 173 grams and measuring a thickness of 7.29mm.

The 6.55-inch AMOLED display on it supports up to 120HZ refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate while achieving a peak brightness of 950 nits. The display also offers an HDR10+ feature and has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. 

This smartphone has a high-resolution 108MP primary camera accompanied by 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensors. On the front is a 32MP high-resolution camera sensor for taking photos and videos. The primary camera can record videos in 4K resolution.  Xiaomi 12 Lite runs on MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. Similarly, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset.

For the audio, it offers dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support but there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.

This is not only a good-looking but also a feature-packed smartphone. Its camera performance and overall performance are good. It also has an adaptive charge feature that learns the daily night charging behaviour of the users and pauses charging at 80 per cent.
