Kathmandu, August 7
An alleged drug dealer was shot dead in a police encounter in Kusunti of Lalitpur district on Monday.
SSP Dinesh Amatya confirmed that Prabin Khatri was declared dead while he was taken to the Patan Hospital for treatment.
Whereas two pistols had been found at the incident site, police are yet to confirm he died of bullets shot by police or himself, Amatya adds.

Alleged drug dealer critically injured in Lalitpur police encounter
Kathmandu, August 7
Police on Monday afternoon opened fire at an alleged drug dealer in Kusunti of Lalitpur.
Prabin Khatri sustained critical injuries in the incident and has been rushed to nearby Patan Hospital police say.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Metropolitan Crime Division had gone to his house in Kusunti. After seeing police, Khatri had opened fire at first and police retaliated, SSP Dinesh Amatya, Chief of the Division, informs.
“I am at the incident site,” Amatya tells Onlinekhabar, “We have found two pistols here.”
