Janakpurdham, February 5
Each member of the Province 2 Assembly will soon be provided a laptop, in the Assembly Secretariat’s bid to make the legislative body’s functioning paperless.
Speaker Saroj Kumar Yadav says the laptops have already arrived in Janakpur and they will be distributed in the next few days.
“Currently, a bill is as thick as a book. We have to make around 150 copies to distribute to the lawmakers,” Yadav says, “We have been spending around Rs 50 million every year in these papers, ink, and printer. With laptops, we will save money.” Likewise, the machines will also save the time of the lawmakers, according to him.
The speaker hopes that the lawmakers will learn how to use a laptop from their personal secretaries if they do not know it now.
