Four ministers from the CPN-UML, including a Minister of State, have taken the oath of office in Sudurpaschim Province.
They took the oath before Province Chief Nazir Miya on Friday afternoon. Earlier, Chief Minister Khagaraj Bhatta had taken the oath of office.
Santosh Sharma Thapa took the oath as Minister for Social Development, Chakra Bahadur Malla as Minister for Economic Affairs, Daman Bhandari as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Janaki Air Bam as Minister of State for Economic Affairs.
Bhatta, who has been appointed Chief Minister, is the parliamentary party leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in the provincial assembly. He became Chief Minister as part of an alliance between the CPN-UML and the NCP under a three-point agreement reached between the two parties.
On Thursday, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Kamal Bahadur Shah resigned as Chief Minister.
Following his resignation, Province Chief Miya appointed Bhatta as Chief Minister on Friday.
