UML leader Pashupati Chaulagain dies of Covid-19

Kathmandu, May 12

A member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly representing the ruling CPN-UML has died of Covid-19 on Tuesday.

Pashupati Chaulagain, a native of Dolakha, died while undergoing treatment at the Manmohan Memorial Hospital of Kathmandu last night, it has been learned. Previous to this, Chaulagain was also elected to the federal parliament twice.

He was a politburo member of the ruling party but was loyal to the rival faction of the party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.

Meanwhile, his body was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday morning. Communications Minister Parbat Gurung among other leaders of the party paid their final tributes to him.
