Two more arrested for relabelling products past expiry dates

Two more people have been arrested on the charge of relabelling food items past expiry dates and selling them in the market.

Based on the statements recorded from the traders arrested last week, the two more have been arrested, informs Rabindra Acharya, the spokesperson of the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection Management.

“The arrestees are associated with two distributors named Ayan and Amazon located in Kalanki and Baphal respectively,” Acharya says, “But, further investigation is underway.”

In the past few weeks, the department has brought to book 13 persons on the charge of relabelling date-expired products including chocolates, biscuits, and potato chips.
