Tibet govt gifts Province 1 medical supplies worth Rs 77.4 mln

The government of the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet has handed over medical supplies worth Rs 77.4 million to the Province 1 government of Nepal as a gift.

The aid is meant for the province’s Covid-19 response.

Representatives of the Nepal China Executive Council handed over the supplies to Chief Minister Sher Dhan Rai in Biratnagar on Monday.

The assistance includes two PCR test devices, three ventilators, and a portable x-ray machine.

Likewise, there are 10,000 RDT kits, 10,000 VTM vials, 20,000 swab sticks, 5,000 PPE sets, 5,000 N95 masks, 20,000 surgical masks, 10,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 2,500 face shields, and 200 IR thermometres, among others.

Receiving the materials, Rai said the goods would be used effectively in the prevention of Covid-19 outbreak, testing of suspected patients, and treatment of the patients.

“We will test as many citizens as possible,” Rai assured.
