Another major attraction at the Samsung Unpacked Event this year is the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series. It features two smartwatches including the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and the return of the popular Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic with the rotating bezel. Samsung discontinued the physical rotating bezel in the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 series with the in-display rotating function which many fans did not like.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series are similar to the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro of last year. The Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic have a sleek and stylish design. The Galaxy Watch6 has a 40mm or 44mm display, while the Galaxy Watch6 Classic has a 43mm or 47mm display. The displays are both bright and clear a lightweight design, with the Galaxy Watch6 weighing 28.7g (40mm) / 33.3g (44mm) and the Watch6 Classic at 52g (43mm) / 59g (47mm).

The vibrant 33.3mm Super AMOLED (40mm) / 37.3mm Super AMOLED (44mm) display on the Galaxy Watch6 and the 33.3mm AMOLED (43mm) / 37.3mm AMOLED (47mm) on the Watch6 Classic have a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series have an aluminium build with both the watches having 5 ATM water resistance.

The main attraction of the Watch6 series is sure to be the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic which brought the rotating bezel back. The rotating bezel was replaced by digital rotation on the Watch5 series which many Galaxy fans didn’t like. People love the clicky sounds when the bezels are rotated. The rotating bezel makes it easier to navigate the watch without having to touch the screen.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series share the same chipset. Both watches are powered by the Exynos W930 processor along with a dual-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-155 CPU. The graphics are handled by Mali G68.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series watches comes with the new Andriod Wear OS 4 with Samsung’s One UI Watch5. With the new OS, the battery life and performance have been said to increase by about 18% more than the previous generation.

Both watches have one standard RAM option of 2GB and a storage option of 16GB.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series have a larger battery size along with the chipset the battery performance has been improved. Powered by a 300 mAh (40mm) / 425 mAh (44mm) battery for the Galaxy Watch6 and 300 mAh (43mm) / 425 mAh (47mm) for the Watch6 Classic they provide a battery life of up to 40 hours on a single charge. Both watches can be wirelessly charged.

The watches have Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou connectivity options. The Galaxy Watch6 series is equipped with a comprehensive array of sensors, including a heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, ECG sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, barometer, and altimeter, ensuring you stay informed about your health and activities.

The Galaxy Watch6 comes in Gold and Graphite colour options, while the Watch6 Classic offers a classic choice between Black and Silver. Both watches have a bunch of strap options that you can choose from according to your style.

As for the price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series in Nepal, the Galaxy Watch6 is expected to be priced at Rs 42,000 for the 40mm variant and Rs 46,000 for the 44mm variant. On the other hand, the Watch6 Classic is expected to retail at Rs 60,000 for the 43mm model and Rs 64,000 for the 47mm model.
