Kathmandu, October 4
The Development and Technology Committee of House of Representatives on Thursday asked the government to explain why controversial administrator Digambar Jha was appointed again as the Chairperson of Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the country’s telecommunication regulatory body.
A meeting of the Committee held today directed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to submit reasons behind his appointment within next 15 days.
Jha was appointed to the top position last month. Just around two months before that, the government had sacked him accusing inefficiency.
Therefore, stakeholders have suspected foul play in his appointment.
