Kathmandu, July 11

Nepal is expected to receive 1.5 million doses of J&J Covid-19 vaccines that the United States government is sending via the Covax facility for free on Monday morning.

Whereas most of the Covid-19 vaccines require two doses, this is a single-dose vaccine.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s press advisor Rajan Bhattarai informs the vaccines will arrive in Kathmandu early morning on Monday.

Earlier on Friday, the US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry had said the vaccines would arrive within days.

The aid is expected to give relief to Nepal that is reeling under the shortage of vaccines for the past several months.
