Kathmandu, August 30

After over four months of a halt citing the Covid-19 spread risks, the government is all set to resume driving licence tests across the country. Once the tests reopen, the government is planning to introduce new rules that have already been made public.

The Department of Transport Management says the tests, both written and practical (trial), will resume on coming Sunday, September 5.

The department’s spokesperson Lok Nath Bhusal says the provincial transport offices have been told to ensure the full and effective implementation of health protocols introduced to avoid infection risks.

Accordingly, the department will allow only 50 people in one shift.

Meanwhile, the department says only those who already filed their applications can appear in the tests now. It is not yet certain when the department will begin accepting new applications.
