Nepal Covid-19 tally: 902 new cases, 2,287 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 48,138 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 902 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 396 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,711 swab samples were tested. So far, 788,174 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 32,964 people have achieved recovery whereas 306 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 2,287 people have been discharged whereas six deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 68 per cent.

The other 14,868 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,053 are hospitalised whereas remaining 6,815 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 144 are in intensive care units and 23 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Taplejung, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 5,300 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
