Nepal Covid-19 tally: 855 new cases, 313 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 33,533 as of Tuesday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 855 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 232 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,327 swab samples were tested. So far, 621,901 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 19,119 people have achieved recovery whereas 164 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 313 people have been discharged whereas seven deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 57 per cent.

The other 14,250 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,581 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 5,669 are in home isolation. Of those hospitalised, 15 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 10,400 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
