Nepal Covid-19 tally: 360 new cases, five deaths, 233 recoveries in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 21,750 as of Thursday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 360 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,622 swab samples were tested. So far, 419,000 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 15,389 people have achieved recovery whereas 65 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 233 people have been discharged whereas five deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 70 per cent.

The other 6,296 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Kathmandu, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Khotang, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, and Rukum West do not have any active cases.

Over 9,400 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
