Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,824 new cases, 3,620 recoveries, 23 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 173,567 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,824 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,622 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 13,023 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 456,366 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 37,765 cases are active currently. Among them, 30,986 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 283 are in intensive care units and 78 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 134,842 people have achieved recovery whereas 960 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,620 people have been discharged whereas 23 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 77.7 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang, Manang and Bajura do not have any active case.

Over 2,300 people are quarantined across the country.
