Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,246 new cases, 1,243 recoveries, 4 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 17

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 59,573 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,246 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,641 swab samples were tested. So far 842,915 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 42,949 people have achieved recovery whereas 343 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 1,243 people have been discharged whereas four deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 72 per cent.

The other 16,241 cases are active currently. Of them, 7,903 are hospitalised whereas the remaining 8,338 are in home isolation.

Of those hospitalised, 182 are in intensive care units and 39 on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Siraha, Sunsari, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each. Solukhumbu, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 7,800 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
