Surkhet, October 12
Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, also the provincial parliamentary party leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, has removed Gulab Jung Shah from his position as the party’s chief whip.
Shahi says Shah was removed from the responsibility as his performance was not satisfying.
The decision comes a day after Shah accepted to register a no-confidence motion against Shahi submitted by 18 lawmakers of the party. Shah has called a parliamentary party meeting for Monday.
The 18 of the 33 lawmakers of the party in the Provincial Assembly had demanded that Shahi be removed from the parliamentary party leader, and hence the chief minister.
Chief Minister Shahi already assigned whip Sita Nepali to work as the chief whip of the party, it has been learned.
