House panel summons CEC, Supreme Court justice nominees for hearing

A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee

Kathmandu, April 16

The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee on Tuesday decided to conduct a hearing session with Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, who has been nominated for the vacant position of Chief Election Commission,er on Wednesday.

Likewise, the Committee summoned five persons nominated for Supreme Court judgeship on Thursday.

The panel’s chairman Laxman Lal Karki says Thapaliya has been invited for the hearing at 2 pm tomorrow. Before that, the panel will meet people who have filed complaints against him, at 11 am tomorrow itself.

Total six complaints have been filed against him.

Likewise, the PHSC will meet complainants against SC justice nominees before interviewing the nominees on Thursday.

Those recently nominated for the apex court are Kumar Regmi, Hari Phunyal, Manoj Raj Sharma, Prakash Dhungana and Sushma Lata Mathema.

Total five complaints have been filed against them.
