Govt prepares to hold first Interprovincial Council meeting coming Sunday

Kathmandu, December 4

All preparations for the meeting of Interprovincial Council going to be held from coming Sunday have been completed.

Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Laxman Prasad Mainali, says all preparations for the meeting scheduled at the OPMCM have been completed.

The meeting between the federation and provinces is taking place for the first time after the country adopted the federal structure.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is the Chairperson of the Council while Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada and Chief Ministers of all seven provinces are the members.

Secretary Mainali says that political dispute between federation and provinces as well as between the provinces would be resolved from the meeting.

He said that all the ministers, state ministers of the federal government, the Attorney General, the Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission, secretaries of all ministries would also participate in the meeting.
